i suppose im addressing the believers/agnostics more than the atheists on this one, but please, everyone feel free to comment.

so, it is apparent from the scriptures that jesus and his followers believed that the end of the world was coming in their own lifetime.

Basically, the small amount of interest that is being charged serves to protect the contributions from inflation. Each year inflation erodes the purchasing power of every dollar, and the cost of building Kingdom Halls rises.

Maintaining something old at new value requires the use of interest. Inflation is a gain that the world is exacting from one another and they need to pass it on to "interested ones".

it is little understood by christians what a difference there is between themselves and judaism; especially on the matter of whom god forgives and why.. a christian expects to sin against many people in the course of their life, but; proudly boasts that they aren't "perfect just forgiven.

" this is wrong by judaism's ethical, moral and theologic standards.. let me explain why.. in judaism; only the person you sin against can forgive you!.

With Judaism you appear to present a psychological view of the person - that they control and are responsible for all their actions - whereas the Christian view appears as more sociological, better explaining why certain things happen to and with certain groups of people.

eg. the prostitute that Jesus saves from stoning - the jewish view held her responsible and guilty, based on her personal involvement in a particular case, whereas Jesus effectively said, "Hey, aren't you all connected to this in some way as well ?"

religious arrogance spoils an otherwise lovely humanitarian story

i normally delete on sight when i receive one of those mass emails that asks you to pass it along to everyone you know.

i guess there was something about the alleged author returning to school as an adult and having three children that sucked me into reading this one.. aside from the usual "pass this along and you'll have a miracle happen in your life" crap that often goes along with these messages, the story started out quite nicely.

all of a sudden, though, the author's self-righteous and arrogant attitude burst into the equation and made me want to puke.. breakfast at mcdonald's.

She said it herself - "His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's Light" - but - I 'almost' reached out and embraced the little man - almost

She was the one meeting Jesus - and he received a Mcmuffin - he's the one who is caring for the handicapped.

I probably believe this bit - "I did not do this for you. God is here working through me......." - God probably sent her to feed them, unbeknowns to her.

They've been blessed, broken, and handed out to her - she was the one invited, by Grace.

and we can always use a review now and then, so that lurkers, active witnesses, and newly ex-witnesses can catch up.

according to the watchtower society, one of the best examples of god's holy spirit operating on the organization is the building program.

i have always had a problem with this from the scriptures, i understand the old law and replacing the passover but those laws did not apply to the new covenant and my question centers around pauls words to the 1 cor 11.

1 cor 11:17-20 .

17but, while giving these instructions, i do not commend you because it is, not for the better, but for the worse that you meet together.18for first of all, when you come together in a congregation, i hear divisions exist among you; and in some measure i believe it.19for there must also be sects among you, that the persons approved may also become manifest among you.
